A new report by School Choice Wisconsin documents how Milwaukee Public Schools have improved since educational options like charter schools, contract schools, and vouchers were created or expanded in the 1990s.

The annual four-page report, "Milwaukee's Public Schools in an Era of Choice," describes actual trends during the time of greatest expansion of parent options.

While opponents of school choice predicted enrollment declines, spending decreases and lower academic achievement in MPS, the opposite has occurred, according to the October 2004 report.
