More Info:
Over the last
few years we have received a multitude of phone calls, letters and emails from women all over the United
States. While each correspondence has its own personal message the
underlying theme is the same. The women of America want a voice in the
direction our nation is heading and they know the best way to express their concerns and have their voice heard
is through their vote. However, letter after letter tells us that the
women of America are extremely frustrated. The source of their
frustration is simple—lack of information.
As mothers and
homemakers, we are so involved in our children’s lives that it often makes it difficult to stay informed on the
candidates, issues, or our local government. Women have asked us over
and over for help and support and Homemakers for
America is answering their call with the launch of the Abigail
Adams Project—and it won’t just benefit women. The Abigail Adams
project will be a major asset to every American who goes to the polls on Election Day. It is the power of information in our hands, and that is the power that We the People
were always meant to have.
How Does it Work?
The Abigail Adams Project will create a
websource of informationduring election cycles on who
the candidates are and
where they stand on the key issues from the President of the United States all the way down to the school board
in every city, county and state in the nation.
The information we be compiled by sending out surveys to candidates running for
office. The survey will have 12-15 questions each candidate will be
asked to answer. We will then take that information and put it on the
web for all to see. HFA will organize a team of volunteers all over
the country to help us identify candidates, compile the information and then get it out to the
public.
And when candidates don’t return their surveys, we will send emails to the citizens in the
district to let them know which candidates didn’t return surveys and they can give them a call and ask
why. In the end, we will have to assume that those candidates who
don’t answer the questions don’t want us to know who they are. And if
they don’t want us to know who they are then we don’t give them their vote.
The Candidates We
Seek
The Abigail Adams will truly revolutionize the Election process. No longer will candidates have to belong to a Party or have a treasure chest of
money. They just have to be the kind of candidate we the people
seek.
We don't want any more politicians in Washington or anywhere else in
this country. We want statesmen – men and women who understand the fundamental principles and guiding values this nation
was founded on, men and women who have the courage to stand up for those principles no matter what the cost. We
want leaders with integrity and moral character who are willing to sacrifice their lives, fortunes and sacred
honor for the public good – men and women who are committed to fighting for a cause that is
greater than themselves. That is
what we want. And that is why HFA introduced the Abigail Adams Project—so we can find
them.
The Power of
Information
At HFA, we believe it is the right of every individual to decide for themselves who they will
support and who they will vote for. But we also recognize there is a
great need to provide a place where we the people can receive truthful, unbiased
answers on issues and candidates. James Madison once said,
“A popular Government, without popular
information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both.
Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves
with the power which knowledge gives.”
That is what the Abigail Adams Project is all about—helping the
women of America arm themselves with the power of information.
Hungering for Information
HFA has received numerous emails and letters from women all over the country asking for our
help. One woman wrote:
“I decided to take the
HFA challenge and have my voice heard in the Primary election. I took
your suggestion to go early so I wouldn’t forget as my busy schedule unfolded. I got to the precinct around 8:00 am and scanned through the ballot in utter
frustration. I had no idea what Issue 7 was and I didn’t know which
candidate best represented my values. Which candidate was pro-life,
pro-family? How do voters know which candidate is for lower taxes and
support constitutional rights such as freedom of religion and the right to bear arms? Isn’t there any
place we can find this information?”
Doesn’t this information
already exist?
Sadly, the answer is no. There is no one place where
women can find this information on a national, state and local level. There are pieces of this information available in various places throughout the internet
and in localized support groups but we rarely have the time it takes to look for it and the task is
overwhelming. We are so busy with our homes and families that we just don’t have the amount of time it takes to
search for and find all of this information.

“Remember the
Ladies”
In 1776 in a letter to her husband John, Abigail Adams urged her husband to “remember the
ladies”. And so, in her name sake, the Abigail Adams Project does just
that. With a resource like this, American voters will finally
be able to vote principles and values and not just party. We will have the power of information right at our
finger tips. With one click of the mouse we will know which candidates are pro-life, pro-family and
pro-America!
While the Abigail Adams Project provides an indispensable resource during election cycles, the
benefits are far more reaching than just that. As the database grows
it will be expanded to include general information on the electoral process, key terms and
procedures. It will also include information on who your elected
leaders are, where they stand on the issues, as well as contacts and websites for your local
government. Homemakers for America will also work with local HFA
members to establish support groups in an effort to provide a more localized resource for women to become
informed and actively involved in their local government and community.
The Abigail Adams Project provides women with the information they need to play an active,
productive role as citizens, without sacrificing their homes and families and puts the power of information back
in the hands of the people where it belongs; for as Thomas Jefferson stated, “Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be
trusted with their own government.”

Project

their families. We appreciate your valued support in this
worthwhile project. Together we can make it

Project
"I
remember when my two boys were younger, more spirited, and driving me nearly to distraction thinking that I
would never be able to figure out all the issues that were important to me when election day rolled around. I
wish that I had at my fingertips the resources of the Abigail Adams project. Thank Goodness it's available
now for stay-at-home Mom's and working women, too."

is wonderful knowing that the Lord is "making a way" as He has promised. Wisdom is knowing what to do
